Welcome to Sahlgrenskas University hospital’s Neonatal Unit in Gothenburg!
As a leading and biggest tertiary care center in Sweden with over 10,500 in-house deliveries annually, we also serve as the primary referral center for a big part of West Sweden. Our highly specialized unit is dedicated to providing high-quality, comprehensive care for newborns requiring advanced medical attention immediately after birth.
In addition to our advanced neonatal facilities, we are proud to have one of the country’s most dedicated Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) teams, allowing us to deliver real-time, bedside imaging that enhances diagnostic precision and supports rapid, effective clinical decision-making for our most vulnerable patients.
Sahlgrenska’s Neonatal Unit is also a hub for teaching and research, frequently collaborating with Gothenburg University to offer practical, cutting-edge training for medical students and professionals. The unit provides an exceptional environment for hands-on learning, promoting best practices in neonatal care and fostering research innovation.
